Matkafé Mätarhuset
Food café inside Klätterverket's climbing centre in the old meter house – food, lunch, fika and drinks.
About
The café sits inside Klätterverket's climbing centre, in the old meter house rebuilt in 2019, and takes climbers and people who have come only to eat alike. Breakfast runs Tuesday to Friday until 11:00 and counts 18 entries between 39 and 95 kronor: breakfast rolls, chia pudding, yoghurt, porridge, avocado smash and two breakfast sets in different sizes, alongside a full coffee range from espresso and cortado to flat white, matcha latte and hot chocolate. Tuesday to Friday between 10:30 and 16:00 lunch takes over. The four dishes of the week change from week to week and cost 160 kronor, a pinsa with salad is 155, and beside them sit Mätarhusets bowl at 175 kronor – black rice, raw slaw, broccoli, lentils, goji berries, orange and greens with the protein of your choice – and a prawn salad at 195. Bread and water always come with the meal, as do filter coffee or tea, and several dishes can be made vegetarian or vegan. Children under twelve have a menu of their own, three dishes at 85 kronor. On Saturday and Sunday between 11:00 and 16:00 brunch takes over instead: eggs Royal, Benedict and avocado, a pulled pork sandwich, cold-smoked salmon and prawn open sandwiches, prawn salad, a vegan salad and the house bowl, between 175 and 195 kronor.
